GYROKINESIS® (floor work)

Gyrokinesis movements are the essence of Gyrotonic except the class is taken without equipment and also in a small group, usually 1:6.

Your Gyrokinesis class will use mats and begins on padded stools. Get in touch with your body by stimulating the senses and organs with tactile and breathing exercises. The class will move to the mat where different exercises are performed to hips, strengthen and mobilize the spine, challenge the abdominals and release joints. Ultimately this is to invigorate the senses to the body and link each body part and movement into the energy centre.

After being lead through an unwinding to balance your inner energy, you leave the studio ready to attack the rest of the day!

Gyrokinesis will help you fully understand that to stabilize the body, the limbs must be active, alive and working.

Both methods focus on the body’s internal energy and draw special attention to clearing any blockages along your energetic or meridian system.
