TESTIMONIALS:
Professional Singer/Actress and Pilates instructor trainee:
As a Performer and student Pilates Instructor, I have found Pilates at The Movement Refinery enormously stimulating and beneficial. Nic Psarros' carefully constructed classes are consistently relevant to my specific physical and mental needs. They have enabled me to overcome such physical challenges as chronic thoracic stiffness, allowing me to sing and perform with greater ease and prevent injury.
His elite instincts and wonderfully personable manner create a superb rapport with all in his classes. I have attended many Pilates studios throughout Australia and New York, but I have gained so much more from Nic's perceptive skill, professionalism and care. These unique qualities have inspired me to become a Pilates Instructor.

The Referrer – an Osteopath
Nicholas' expertise of Pilates and knowledge of human biomechanics has
enhanced my patients ability to heal and recover from their conditions, as well as preventing further injuries from occurring. Nicholas is able to efficiently and successfully develop strength, balance and flexibility in my patients.
He is an essential part of my patients rehabilitation.
I have such confidence in his abilities and body awareness as a Pilates instructor that I refer my patients directly to him.
Nicholas and I have a multi-practitioner approach to identifying, assessing and treating of patients, this greatly accelerates the patients outcome on treatment. He has refer many patients to me in this manner and the patients has responded in a very positive fashion.

Professional Dancer:
Being a professional dancer, Pilates has been vital to my performance. Since taking classes with Nick at the movement refinery I've never felt stronger and happier with my body. I particularly like the specific attention nick gives to each individual for their own needs. I've been to many different studios, but strongly recommend the movement refinery as the best.

Pregancy:
Nic's classes are a super fun environment to work out in. During my pregnancy, Nic kept me feeling strong and I was confident enough to take classes all the way through to my 8th month. After having my little boy and stopping classes, I lost a lot of muscle due to lack of exercise. I have come back after over a year of stooping to lift a heavy little body and Nic's personal attention means I get a great functional workout that is getting my strength, posture and tummy back to their former glory (or close to it).
Distance Runner:
I have been attending The Movement Refinery for the last 18 months and have nothing but high praise for the studio. As a long distance runner I have found my Pilates practice to be not only complementary but in fact essential to my training. I have watched my weekly mileage creep up from low middle distance levels to over 50km weekly while becoming easier and more enjoyable each week. Injuries that interfere with my training have become mercifully infrequent and recovery time has improved out of sight. I would not hesitate to enthusiastically recommend this studio to any athletes whether amateur like myself or professional, as many of my Pilates classmates are, as an unbeatable adjunct to all forms of training.

The referrer – Emergency Doctor
As a practicing emergency doctor in Melbourne, I am happy to lend my support to Nicholas and the Movement Refinery. Nicholas proves himself over and over again to be a master of functional anatomy and gears personalized workouts to deal with our individual physical needs for all body shapes and sizes. Since starting Pilates, I feel both stronger and lighter, not to mention fit into clothes I never thought would see the light of day again. The classes are small, focused and friendly, often riotously funny but always tailored to what each individual needs on that day. I recommend this studio for both prevention and treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems, especially back pain and joint instability; both of which I see many times daily at work and which lead to unnecessary limitations to enjoyment of everyday life.

General conditioning to increase mobility
I have started taking lessons in movement from Nicholas about 3 years ago. I came across his website, as I was looking for a movement style that would suit my partner to treat a bulging disk. From the very first introductory hour I felt that Nicholas had a very personal style of instruction. I had been to clinical pilates before to deal with a weak core and was so bored with the excercises, that I did not continue. Nicholas has been able to challenge me every time, when I attend either a small group session or a private session. My ability to move with a greater range and with a lot more strength has been achieved over time. I also started doing Gyrotonic with Nicholas, which I liked so much, that I almost considered becoming an instructor myself. A combination of the two movement styles under the very competent, personal and very enjoyable guidance of Nicholas has helped me to a much more flexible and stronger body.

General conditioning to increase strength and balance
Nicholas and The Movement Refinery Pilates is one of the best things I have done for myself. Nicholas has the ability to stretch me as a client in a really fun, but professional way. I have improved my posture, strength, flexibility and balance. I would struggle to now do Pilates with anyone else.
